Tamari Authentic Georgian Cuisine: Experience the Flavors of Georgia in San Carlos

Fantastic restaurant with a unique food offering of authentic Georgian food. Recommend their khachapuri and their lamb kebab. We tried their Pkhali Spinach which is an acquired taste and the beef khinkali dumplings, which had good flavor. We also tried the assortment of drinks from the traditional Georgian soda (pear and tarragon flavors) and the mixed berry compote. The tarragon tastes like fennel/licorice. We wanted the Chakpuri, but they stopped selling it when we arrived at 6:30, since they had run out, so make sure you arrive early to try it! Please note that the food does take a while to arrive. We waited 30 minutes for food, but the staff are very nice and the owner spends a lot of time and effort in ensuring quality food. Generally, there is plenty of space and never too full, but they do take reservations. Note that the restaurant is rather pricey, but it is well worth.

Excellent Georgian food! The spinach pkhali was a perfect start, and the chakapuli lamb stew was rich and flavorful. The khachapuri was cheesy and delicious. It's a 4-star experience only because the service was a bit slow, but the freshness of the food makes the wait worth it. Highly recommend for an authentic taste of Georgian cuisine.

My review comes as an Asian person who knows nothing of Georgian food. The Lobio was amazing! I’d never had anything like it in my life. Definitely worth trying if you’re curious. I will be returning with friends

Absolutely delicious and the owners are amazing. I had visited Georgia a few months prior to my visit here and was craving the food. This place hits. I highly recommend the shkmeruli and khachapuri.

An incredible restaurant of Georgian cuisine! Excellent service, we were very pleased with both the service and the atmosphere. Everything was delicious, from the drinks to the desserts. We were recommended a delicious wine, and the dogwood compote was very tasty. The Tolma was very aromatic, with the right amount of spices, with a delicious sauce. Acharuli Khachapuri was juicy, with delicious stringy cheese, moderately salty, crispy dough, very tasty! Everyone also really liked the Mtsvadi Georgian Kabab, everything was excellent both in terms of spices and portions. Napoleon was also good, prepared according to a classic recipe. The dough is light and crispy, and one portion is enough for at least two people. I highly recommend this place, everything is great!

Lovely Georgian appetizers, outside dining, compulsory 20% service charge for all dine-in orders, but the server lacked any hospitality. We ordered Georgian entrees - Khachapuri and Ojakhuri with mushrooms and they both tasted great. The Khachapuri is very heavy, the bread is filled with cheese, it tasted great but we skipped dinner though we had this meal around 4:30 PM.

Absolutely delicious Georgian food, fantastic wine, chill ambience, and lovely service. Highly recommend this place! We had the kupati, lamb shank, and, of course, the acharuli khachapuri (no egg), all of which we happily recommend, especially that cheese bread. The mukuzani wine paired quite well with the food. We'll certainly stop by if we're ever in San Carlos again!

Tamari was a perfect date night pick! - I had a Georgian wine, Mukuzani, which was a great full bodied red - The Khinkali were exceptional, with dough that was properly thin and meat that was seasoned perfectly - The Khachapuri was great (we got the simplest one and it was a great accompaniment for the kebabs) - The chicken kebab was juicy and just the right amount of char - For dessert we ordered the Tamari's Favorite, a creative pear-focused dish with a very unique cream and sauce combination, as well as some Georgian coffee Overall a great experience! The owner was very friendly and we had a great time chatting with him about his recent vacation in Georgia. We'll definitely be back.
